Private Plant Walks

Foraging & Herbalism Walks

Discover the Hidden Treasures Growing on Your Land

Your property is home to a unique community of plants, many with fascinating stories, ecological importance, edible uses, or medicinal value. During a private foraging walk, we'll explore your land together, identifying the plants that naturally grow there and helping you build confidence in recognizing them throughout the seasons.

Whether you own a few acres or a large piece of woodland, this personalized experience is designed to deepen your relationship with the land you steward.

A private walk is perfect if you want to:

  • Learn to identify the trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and fungi growing on your property.

  • Discover edible and medicinal plants that may already be thriving in your backyard.

  • Learn which plants to avoid, including poison ivy and other potentially harmful species.

  • Understand how to forage safely, ethically, and sustainably.

  • Gain confidence using seasonal clues to identify plants year-round.

  • Learn how the plants on your land support wildlife, pollinators, and the surrounding ecosystem.

  • Strengthen your connection to the land by seeing it through new eyes.

Every property has its own story waiting to be discovered. Whether your goal is to become more self-reliant, steward your land with greater knowledge, or simply satisfy your curiosity, a private foraging walk offers a memorable, hands-on learning experience tailored specifically to your needs.

It was such an honor. My family enjoyed learning about the edible herbs and flora and their healing properties. The confidence Cheyenne has in her knowledge made it such a rewarding experience for us. She is a treasure, and I look forward to future workshops and experiences. Thank you for being an exceptional steward to the land.

About Private Walks

Join me, herbalist and ecologist (M.S.), Cheyenne Jolene, for plant identification and nature walks centered around local Southeast plant foraging. Immerse yourself in the rich natural world that surrounds us and begin to see the plants through the eyes of a forager. Develop a relationship with the land you live on by learning the ancient healing medicine found in plants local to the biologically diverse and beautiful Southeast.

We will explore various Southeast ecosystems and identify a variety of medicinal, edible, and other notable wild plants growing in urban areas, forests, meadows, and nearby waterways. Every season offers its own unique opportunities to learn more about the plants around us, even when we least expect them. Yes, we even walk in winter!

My intention is to teach you practical identification skills, inspire you to forage your own food and medicine, and open you to developing a closer relationship with nature, even if it’s in your backyard. Are you ready to learn?

I got so much out of the wild plant walk. Cheyenne is knowledgeable, kind, and patiently answers questions with details, and in a way anyone can understand. She makes it fun, just by being her authentic self, and her humility is refreshing. I’d highly recommend trying a walk, and see for yourself. I will definitely be doing more classes with her.
